Depth Of Field

16th February 2015 14:43

I just bought myself a Carl Zeiss Sonnar 1.5 lens. Not exactly something used for shooting naughty pics, but I'm going to give it a try! Shallow depth of field is something I've been finding more and more interesting... So there will be art on here sometime :) This is a sample I took at the British Museum 10 minutes after buying the lens.

Ellie has been here all week :)

7th February 2015 07:20

I'm just about to take the divine Ellie Roe (aka Arabella, aka Raphaella Lily) back to the station. She's been here since Tuesday, shooting for other photographers and doing a few with me. We've had a fun time and got 5 really cool sets for this site. She'll definitely be back! I'll spend the rest of the day watching rugby and processing the photos.

Twitter

29th January 2015 21:02

I have joined the twatter ... sorry twitterati ... not because I think the world needs all my thoughts compressed into 140 characters (although I'm sure it would help), but for advertising. The site has been up for a few weeks, I've had no complaints about anything not working, it seems to be pretty reliable, so now it is time to let other people loose on it.

Please follow ... @ArtcoreCK ... and re-tweet :)

Update Schedule

24th January 2015 07:44

An email has flooded in. **

When do I update? It asks. I can't put all the details on the front page as it would be full of guff and unreadable. My aim on this site is to update twice a week, Thursday and Sunday, usually sometime around 6 to 8am UK time. Occasionally I may put the update up on the previous evening. I do travel a lot, so if I am stuck with a flakey internet connection then updates may be delayed - if I suspect that there may be a problem I will try to put the update up early, before I travel. I will put up extra updates when I can, but I don't want to commit to a schedule that I can't maintain.

The limitation isn't taking photos, it is processing them! I have become very efficient at this, and I could do it quicker but I'm not prepared to drop my standards. If several thousand people joined (!), I could do this full time and update more. In the mean time, do have to earn a living too!

** Now it is time to admit it. The happiest 28 minutes of my week, and indeed life, are spent listening to "I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue". I drop endless references into everything I say and write. If you spot them, write in and tell me. I will be awarding points. And what do points mean?

Well Sophia, We're Ready To Roll

17th January 2015 11:58

Can you believe it? I don't think Sophia does! Finally, all approvals done, everything tested, and ready to go! In celebration I've put up an extra bonus update. For a while there are special cheap "Charter" memberships available. If you find broken links, or the access doesn't work quite right, email me on artcore-cafe (at) outlook.com and give me a chance to sort it out. As you know, however much software is tested, as soon as users are set loose on it something will break!

What An Awesome Shoot

16th January 2015 22:12

I have just had an amazing shoot with Alison and her friend Haphazard Kittie. They'd always wanted to shoot together, and they finally did for me :) This photo was an accident while we were setting up. It has a certain something! God, I'm exhausted right now!!!

What's A Gnat's Crotchet?

8th January 2015 19:13

As dear old Humphrey Lyttleton used to say, we're within a gnat's crotchet of going live. Here's a picture of a gnat. I'm not sure where it's crotchet is.

I'm just waiting for final approval from the credit card companies, which should take a couple more days. Then, and only then, I can test the integration of the site software, the membership software, and the billing website. Frankly, it astonishes me that I can't do this testing before approval, but I can't. There it is.

One Thing After Another

5th January 2015 10:20

I have finally fixed all the issues with the billing and membership software, now the email has broken! Incredibly frustrating...

Nearly Nailed

28th December 2014 13:05

After some fairly heavy duty threats to the hosts, the website is now all working. It was unaccessible for 4 days and they just denied it! Yay!

Still issues with the billing and membership software. At least you can see what is coming :)

Really, It's Been Crazy

22nd December 2014 20:19

I've just had the incredible Tomoko over for another shoot. Yesterday Mia Sollis was here, last week Alison Wonderland came around for a combined chat/shoot. And tomorrow I'm off to Serbia for Christmas with my long-suffering girlfriend.

All that, and I'm still struggling with the billing and membership!

Seriously, You May Soon Hear A Loud Bang From South London

12th December 2014 17:28

That would be my head exploding.

You wouldn't believe how difficult setting up a website can be! The billing and membership software is a nightmare. I'm sure someone who would produce a simple one-stop package, without all the bloatware everything on the market comes with, would make an absolute killing. If only I had the time...

So, every day you see new updates on the front page. I upload the full sets, but I can't let you have access yet. One day, one day.

Right Now, I am, Figuratively, Dead

30th November 2014 23:55

Don't you just hate it when people say "Literally" when they mean "Figuratively" or "Metaphorically". It makes my blood literally boil!

Which is apropos of nothing, really. I've just had Kayla Louise staying with me for a few days, she did several shoots for other photographers at my house, and we fitted in a few sets too, including this cheesy Christmas set :) We laughed and joked for 5 days, I went to bed far too late, chased overstaying photographers out of the house, showed them how to use my lights, bought endless loo roll, and, right now, I am figuratively dead!

Sometimes I Feel Lucky

11th November 2014 21:32

I've just finished tidying up a set I shot with the amazing Mia Sollis recently (In case you haven't realised, nothing on here is straight off the camera, I work on everything!). Anyway, apart from the satisfaction of another job well done, I got to thinking how lucky I am sometimes. I get to see beautiful girls like this naked in my living room! It's hard work, don't get me wrong, but I love doing it.

First Blog Post
